Former Tirana chief Prosecutor Elizabeta Imeraj, otherwise known as the woman of strong files of criminal groups and terrorism, has failed today the vetting process for all three criteria, unjustified assets, inadequacy of the figure and incompetence in office.
The former chief prosecutor of the capital, one of the most prominent officials of serious crimes and candidate for SPAK, said that the vetting resembled that of the former communist state security, against a woman named Rukije Rama persecuted and convicted then based on gossip as evidence.
While insisting that she will address the Strasbourg Court, Imeraj avoided the answers of whether or not she was betrayed by justice and whether in the end it was worth it or not to fight crime.
“I do not answer whether it was worth it or not because I am or I was a prosecutor, but I tell you in the end justice will triumph” – said Imeraj
“It feels strange as it is contrary to the legal process, you are invited as a journalists to receive every sheet of the investigative file, where it is proven that Imeraj has zero assets owned or co-owned.
“My work of 17 years has clearly spoken about how the work of the prosecutor was done and the results obtained.
“More than 160 defendants have been sentenced and only three have been acquitted. So the result with what the KPA decided is disproportionate,” said Imeraj, among other things.
