The Socialist Movement for Integration leader, Ilir Meta, considered as
unacceptable the position held by the former Prime Minister, Sali
Berisha, against the failure of Albania to receive the candidate status.
“We heard since September and until one day before Netherlands gave the veto, that status was a contribution only of the Democratic Party. We had been excluded, although we were part of the government, and that the Democratic Party was giving the status to Rama as a gift. Right after this, it was all the contrary”, Meta declared.
Meta accused the former Prime Minister about the bad economic situation in which he left the country. According to Meta, this was due to the wrong economic policies that were opposed by the Socialist Movement for Integration in that time.
“Can you oppose the act for subventioning the categories in need with 10%, so that they can pay more for food and energy? Can you criticize the government’s support to farmers? Will anyone be against reducing the tax of small businesses? I am not happy to admit that the increased tax on profit for the large businesses is a bad necessity. In normal conditions this shouldn’t have happened, but we are not in those conditions”, Meta declared.
In the analyze of 100 days, the Socialist Movement for Integration leader, Ilir Meta, declared that the government’s priority are the interests of the Albanian citizens and the constant improvement of the quality of their lives.
According to him, the government will not only pay all debts to businesses, but a series of measures will be taken, which will go in favor to the citizens, such as removing VAT for medicine and all health services.
