The Socialist Party will file a criminal report at the Prosecution for
the million EUR damage caused by the failed tests for using technology
in elections.
The opposition is convinced that the failure of the electronic identification of Tirana voters was intentional.
The Socialist Party representative, Koli Bele, declared for Top Channel that this is a violation of the Constitutional Code that protects the legal interest of citizens: “We have a considerable economic damage”, Bele declared.
For the Socialist Party, the Central Election Commission is violating a series of Electoral Code articles, mainly related to the obligatory deadlines for the realization of the Tirana Project, the lack of legal act, and the unilateral breaking of this agreement with the Indra Company.
“These are violations that the Prosecution of any normal state investigates due to the damage made to public investments. The responsible on this case is the CEC, which has been part of the agreement and it is a structure that has cooperated for this failure”, Bele underlined.
The SP says that this is the case to end once and for all the impunity of officials who cause large financial damages by violating the law. The damage on this case mounts up to 3.4 million EUR from the Albanian taxpayers’ money.
