Students of the Economic Faculty continued their protest at the Tirana
Municipality, where they handed over an open letter to Mayor Basha,
through which they ask the liberation of academic premises from illegal
constructions.

The students placed a cardboard box in front of the municipality, which according to them symbolize the spaces that should belong to the students.

“Our first request is the demolishing of buildings that are under construction inside the campus, completely illegal. The second request is that measures should be taken in the urban plan for the buildings that are on the opposite side of the faculty. Their construction has ended long ago and now they have included the territory of the faculty by even damaging its walls”, says Armir Roko, leader of the Students’ Council.

As regards the building that is being built in the area of the Faculty, the Municipality reacted by explaining that the construction works are legal, because the faculty has not been able to secure a lawsuit at Court.

“The Faculty must secure a lawsuit at the First Instance Court for suspending the decision”, declared the Municipality Administrator, Eltion Kapedani.
