Exports grow with 10.3%

Official data show that exports have continued to keep a fast pace even during March.

According to the Institution of Statistics, the value of products that the Albanian companies sold in the foreign markets during the past month increased with 10.3%, compared to one year ago.

Exports for the first trimester of the year were 594 million USD in total, from 533 million for the same period of the past year. The detailed data show that the growth of exports has been led mainly by the manufacturing industry, respectively textiles and shoes, exports that increased with 50 million USD for the first three months.

Besides exports, the commercial figures for the first trimester show positive signals in the other side of exchanges, imports. After three years dropping, the curve of imports seems to have changed – in the first trimester of the year they were 110 million higher than in 2013. The data show that the growth of imports is noted almost in all groups of products, including intermediate goods that are used for investments.
