The mineral and oil price crisis is still slowing down the Albanian
exports. Official data from INSTAT show that total exports in January
reached to 16.3 billion ALL, from 17.7 that they were one year ago.
The 7.8% drop is due to minerals, fuels, energy and construction materials.
The only positive growth is the export of agricultural products and the manufacturing industry.
INSTAT says that the food, beverage and smoking exports increased with 30%, while shoes and textiles with 1.1 billion ALL more than the last year.
INSTAT says that imports were also 1.4% lower than one year ago, mainly in construction materials and chemical products.
However, the purchase of machineries and equipments has kept growing fast. This also means that investments in economy are starting to recover.
