Explosive-selling gang arrested

Four people, two from Kruja and two from Tirana, were arrested by the Tirana police during an operation at the Sadik Petrela street, while trying to sell the explosive.

Ilir Dhimo, 36, and Pellumb Daci, 46, both from Kruja; Emild Taku, 27, and Artur Cello, 40, both from Tirana, tried to flee from the police but failed/

“We seized the biggest amount of explosive. We hit a specialized criminal group. Four people were arrested and more than 100 kilograms of C4 have been seized. All the suspects were caught on the act, and they all tried to flee during the arrest. The police searched their residences and found 98 kilograms of explosive, detonators, mine triggers, etc. The police is investigating in cooperation with the Prosecution”, declared the Director of the Tirana Police, Ardian Cipa.

After searching their homes, the police seized as evidence:

• C4, 96  kg
• Detonators, 37 kg
• Mine triggers    3744 pieces
• Detonation capsules    2927 pieces
• Electronic detonation capsules 387 pieces
• Copper electronic detonation capsules 101 pieces
• Plastic boxes   521 pieces
• A considerable amount of various detonators
• 200 meters of detonating fuse

Police declared they had been keeping the explosive salesmen under surveillance and that their network has other people implicated.
