A terrorist act took place today in Kurbin, which, according to preliminary investigation seems of political background.
A considerable amount of C4 blew up in the legs of a high-tension power line pole at the Tirana-Podgorica interconnection.
Official sources from the Interior Ministry say that the explosion was able to cut one leg of the pole, while on the other leg, police fund a 6.4 quantity of C4 which had not exploded.
Authorities rushed at the scene, and experts dismantled the C4 charge that didn’t explode. Te evidence was taken by the Scientific Police.
The authorities say that the terrorist act is based on political grounds, since they found some cardboard signs with the words: “Oil” and “Taxes” written on them, referring to the 10 ALL of raised tax for every liter of oil.
Police is working to identify the authors who might be at least two, based on the evidence. This is the first terrorist act in the Albanian Republic, which has been followed by clear messages from the authors.
