Experts think that the Albanian economy will have no additional risks if
Greece leaves the Eurozone. The former Minister of Finances, Arben
Malaj, believes that the measures taken by the authorities and by the
IMF in the past years have reduced the chances of transferring crises
from abroad.
But although they exclude chances of direct hits, experts think that a possible escalation of the crisis requires great attention by the Albanian government.
For Arben Malaj, the Albanian economy has already adopted itself to the Greek crisis since 2009, and has paid with lower economic activity, lower remittances and lower direct foreign investments.
However, Selami Xhepa, says that the exit of Greece from Euro might make the revival of the Albanian economy even more difficult, since the role of the Greek capital is important, as the second biggest trade partner of Albania, after Italy.
Yesterday, Bank Governor Genti Sejko declared for Top Channel that the Albanian banking system is immune to even the worst possible scenarios that might take place in Greece.
