The Internal Affairs and Complaints Service of the Tirana Police, referred to the prosecution for preliminary investigation of two police officers suspected of having reacted slowly to detain a suspected sex offender.

The case was reported by a man and his 15-year-old daughter, who claim that after their report, the investigation specialists did not refer the suspect for sexual violence but only for intimidation.

But the file that TCH has seen, shows that citizen O. N. was referred for investigation on the charge of sexual violence, while the circumstances that aggravate the officers are the fact that immediately after the event the young man was allowed to leave freely, only to be arrested three days later.

According to the file, the 15-year-old girl had come out during the quarantine for a run in the Dajti area. She was stopped by a motorcyclist who invited to accompany her, but when the girl refused, he followed her on foot for almost 30 meters, approached her and when she tried to shout out he closed her mouth and started touching her in intimate places.

As it is understood from the story of the girl, she was able to break away from him and run in front of a police car that patrolling the area.

But while officers who escorted her to the police station described how an unknown girl asked for help, those who carried out the subsequent actions allegedly did not have the same motivation.

A TCH source indicated that officers with initials with O.F. and A. N., are suspected of having acted in this way in order to alleviate the condition of the 22-year-old suspect. They are now investigated for abuse of office. / Anila Hoxha /
