The chaos and fear that the Taliban are instilling every day in NATO military collaborators in Afghanistan is brought in an exclusive interview of Top Channel’s Muhamed Veliu, with another Afghan translator who has assisted the Albanian military missions there.

Desperate by the current situation, he appeals for help to the Albanian authorities.

“I have worked for two and a half years with the Albanian guys. One of them was the commanding officer for me. I provided them with information so that they would be safe. We were in Kabul, but the information was about different areas and came from various sources, in order to prevent attacks on the Albanian military and other NATO members.”

The interpreter of the Albanian commandos tells how he is experiencing these days under the new rule of the Taliban.

“It is a catastrophic situation. The Taliban are everywhere. I cannot leave the house to buy food or do anything else. I’m stuck at home. We have no electricity. We have nothing. We had some spare foods from last week and we are using them at the moment.”

Through Top Channel he makes this appeal to his friends the Albanian military and the government of our country.

“I ask them to get me out of here. We have helped them in difficult times by saving their lives. Now is their time to save our lives. If the Taliban capture me they will not hesitate to kill me along with my family, as a result of the work I have done. They have no mercy on anyone. If they find me, as a person who has worked for Americans and Albanians, my life ends. I appeal to Albanians, please help me. I have helped you in difficult times. We did not expect Kabul to fall into the hands of the Taliban so soon. I was working and suddenly I heard that the Taliban had arrived in Kabul. I have not been out of the house since. My life is in danger. I have two children. My wife and I are close to death. My wife and two children not deserve to be killed by the Taliban. Do you believe it would be a good thing for us to die at the hands of the Taliban by beheading us?

“Please help us survive this situation.”

Meanwhile Taliban spokesman Zubiullah Mujahid two days ago promised amnesty for American collaborators but the Afghan translator explains to Top Channel why he believes this is not true.

“I do not believe in this because they have recently killed two translators and are looking house to house to find out who collaborated with foreigners. The Taliban have recently killed two Afghan commandos, including others who worked for the government. I do not believe what the Taliban say as they will not stand by what they say. They will take revenge.”
