An old mine may have been used to hide tracks of war crimes in Kosovo.
The mine near Rashka, at the area called Kizhevak, may have been the place where Serbian forces moved bodies of Albanian civilians they have killed, trying to cover their tracks.
The Commissions in Kosovo and Serbia are looking for a fifth location where they suspect for massive graves.
The Serbian Prosecution notified the Commission for Missing Persons in Prishtina, that there could be some of the war victim bodies. The excavation is being observed by Kosovo Albanians too.
“We are on the second day of this phase. We are waiting for a real intensification of the works. Being in inappropriate climatic conditions,We are waiting, while the excavation is undergoing. We will discuss for possible results, based on that”, said Kushtrim Gara, from the Mission Persons Commission in Prishtina.
The excavations have found remains of dozens bodies in Rudnica, near Rashka. The victims were buried together, and a building was built on their site. The number was expected to be higher.
