Police has started the investigation for the money stolen at the
Evidence Room of the Court of Serious Crimes. Besides interrogating
people that might have information, the Police have found fingerprints
on the envelope where the money were kept.
Police says that the fingerprints will be compared with the people who had access to the evidence room, because the envelope might have been touched by several people, including the prosecutors that have collected the evidence, the judges that have administered them and the secretaries or room maintenance.
The identification of the author is hampered for the moment due to the fact that the investigation team knows only the time when was noted that the money was missing, but they don’t know when the 300.000 euros and 50.000 ALL were stolen.
The investigations are being conducted by the State Police, which is expected to send the file at the Prosecution.
The Court of Serious Crimes has taken no administrative measure against the persons who had access in the evidence room, a decision that is expected to be taken by the investigative team sent by the Ministry of Justice.
