Hundreds of documents, photographs, copies of passports, visa
attestations and envelopes with insurance polices were found in the
house of Ibrahim Rugova’s son, Uke Rugova.
Other evidence that connects him with a criminal group were presented this Thursday by Prosecutor Alen Cansick at the Basic Court of Prishtina, in a session that concluded only in the late hours of the evening.
After introducing the facts, the Prosecutor convinced the judge panel to give the arrest measure to Uke Rugova, Izet Beqiri and Florjan Petani, Albanian citizens working at the Italian Embassy in Prishtina.
Other collaborators, Fitim Beqiri, Visar Beqiri, Asad Beqiri, Edison Idrizaj, Hamza Beqiri and Driton Voca received 30 days of house arrest. Qefser Baholli has been released with the obligation to appear in court.
The son of former President of Kosovo, Ibrahim Rugova, is suspected of smuggling with immigrants, power abuse, fraud, illegal influence and organized crime.
The Prosecutor has listed the evidence against Uke Rugova, which were found in the former house of Ibrahim Rugova. This implicates even the former Italian ambassador. A letter found that was addressed to him, shows that Rugova had asked him for support with the visa.
Three other letters were sent to Favzi Habib, official of the Italian Embassy in Prishtina. The investigation is being held with the suspicion that this group has profited from the Italian visa. An Italian visa has been sold for at least 3500 EUR.
