Everyone is being investigated about Nezar Seiti’s extradition to Italy

However, the fact that Nezar Seiti was under investigation had been mentioned several times by media during the past months. Hence, it remains to be seen how the Courts, Prosecutions, Justice Ministry and Prison Directory will justify this lack of knowledge.

Even if none of the people in charge was personally informed about the investigation, there is an online system at the Justice Ministry which verifies the situation of anyone who is under investigation.

The General Prison Directory, according to sources, is the second institution which should have informed the Ministry of Justice about the reasons why Nezar Seiti was being held in detention since October 2017.

The prison directories should have informed that he was detained on account of investigations conducted by the Court of Serious Crimes and because he was wanted in Italy.

The third institution, the Jurisdictional Directory of Foreign Relations should have coordinated data for this citizen through the respective institutions, such as two Prosecutions, the Prosecution of Serious Crimes and the Prosecution of Tirana.

The last ones who are being verified by the Prosecution of Durres are the Prosecutors themselves, since the Prosecutor of Tirana, in the document obtained by Top Channel, states that she is in favor of his extradition because Nezar Seiti is not under any investigation, a fact that could have been proven differently at the Court of Serious Crimes, located just a few meters away, which had already started an investigation.

The Prosecutors of Serious Crimes working with the “Habilaj-Tahiri” case will also be under verification, since Seiti’s defence lawyer, Detar Hysi, has filed a report. In this document, the lawyer notifies the Prosecution of Serious Crimes that they should take action because Seiti was being extradited.
