The European Parliament delegation, which arrived with the purpose to resolve the political stalemate in Albania, between the government and opposition, held a press conference today which focused on appeals for cooperation before the country’s EU accession negotiations.
The Head of this Delegation, Tunne Kelam, said that Parliamentary boycott is a very bad signal in a time when politicians must overcome divisions and focus on the EU accession negotiations of this June.
“We are against violent protests, the least democratic way to resolve problems. Albania needs more space for civil society, which must have more space in Albanian institutions. The voice of the young people must be heard by the government regarding the Higher Education Reform”, Tunne Kelam said.
