The European Commisison condemned the deportation of six Turkish citizens from Kosovo, adding that they doubt there will be a fair trial for them in Turkey.
The Spokesperson of the European Commission, Maja Kocijancic, said that the rule of law is a basic principle for the EU, that’s why the actions of the Kosovo institutions should be in full accordance with the norms defined in the Stabilization-Association Agreement.
As for the arrest, Kocijancic said that the arbitrary actions fall against the norms sanctioned in this agreement.
“The European Commission recognizes the right of Turkey to put before trials suspects about the failed coup of two years ago, but basic rights should be guaranteed for everyone”, Kocijancic declared.
