Albania issued 500 million euro seven-year Eurobond from international markets.
The auction, considered as very important for the credibility of Albania’s economy, was completed with success.
The Minister of Finances, Arben Ahmetaj, declared in a live interview for Top Channel that the Eurobond will replace a previous, more expensive loan, with a cheaper and longer-termed instrument.
“The markets tested Albania’s economy and reforms. The courageous and necessary reforms are rewarding us. Albania is turning into a normal country, where you can invest without concerns and for a long period”, Ahmetaj declared.
The Minister insisted that this loan is a refinancing instrument that will not increase the public debt.
