EU leaders expressed their concerns about external influences that are creating division among Western Balkan countries, relating the current situation with the recent moves of russia and their allies, to block closer ties of Balkan with the West

The British Prime Minister, Theresa May, said she will address the possible destabilization of the region and the risk it represents to the common security of Europe.

After suspicions for a possible coup in Montenegro, May said that they should do more to protect the region from Russian destabilization campaigns.

The President of the Europan Union, Donald Tusk, also spoke about tensions and divisions in the region, which are out of control.

The EU High Representative, Federica Mogherini, visited Balkan recently and warned that it is turning into field of power games.

The EU governments discussed this Thursday the situation of Albania, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro.

The integration process seems difficult, while there is disappointment for the lack of concrete results.
