EU issued a press release in support of US Ambassador, Donald Lu

“The EU expresses the highest appreciation for the diplomatic engagement of the U.S. Embassy in Tirana and, in particular, of the U.S. Ambassador to Albania, H.E. Mr Donald LU”, the EU statement says.

The document underlines that “The EU and the U.S. cooperate closely to support the people of Albania in the creation of a fully independent, accountable, impartial and professional judicial system.”

“The imminent launch of the International Monitoring Operation, which as from next week will oversee the vetting of judges and prosecutors, is another concrete shared commitment of the EU and the U.S”, says the EU press release.
