The EU approved this Monday 71 million EUR in subsidy grants for local farmers who can cover a certain amount of the agricultural investment.
“There is a percentage limit for the investment, which is not small. It’s 60%, minimally, which should be covered by the investors. In mountainous areas, it goes up to 70%. Young farmers will receive it with 65%”, declared the Minister of Agriculture, Niko Peleshi.
For every 100,000 EUR investments, 60% will be covered by IPARD. The grant will assist investment plans from 10,000 to 500,000 EUR.
Every farmer who wants to apply needs to consult a professional first, regarding the business plan.
The applications start after two months and the benefiting farmers will be declared this Spring by the Agency of Agriculture and Rural Development at the Ministry.
