Christian Danielsson, the EU Director-General for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, attended a visit in Tirana where he met with political leaders.
Danielsson started his visit with the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, at 09:30, and later he met with the opposition leader, Lulzim Basha.
“It is regrettable that Albania is in a trap today, caused by the lack of stability. The political forces must work for joint reforms. There should be a general leadership to take the country closer to the EU. AS for the opposition, I have already declared that the mass resignation of MPs only undermines Albania’s EU path. This uncertainty must be overcome the soonest possible. The Parliament is a pillar of the government, the engine of every mature democracy”, Danielsson declared.
