The Polish ambassador in Tirana, the country of which took over the EU
presidency, declared that EU enlargement is a strategic and political
project of the European Union. She asked aspirant countries to show
determination while fulfilling the criteria.
Through a joint conference
with EU ambassador, Ettore Sequi, Irena Tatarzynska emphasized that her
country supports the integration of Western Balkans, including Albania.
Ambassador Sequi asked the Albanian politics to overcome the political stalemate and return to dialogue. According to the ambassador, the progress report that the European Council is preparing for Albania, is a very serious evaluation.
“I have seen polarization in the last months. We want to see trust go up and polarization go down, because EU integration is a national objective. EU and the European Commission are ready to continue their help in this process. We all trust that all parties will play their role”, Sequi declared.
The Polish ambassador also emphasized that both parties must sit and develop a political dialogue.
