The European Commission delegated the right to manage the EU financial help to the Albanian government.

The news was confirmed by a joint conference of the Ministry of Integration and Ministry of Finances.

“The Albanian government will be responsible for the procurement and implementation procedures, and not the delegation of the European Union, as it has worked son far. This was made possible after the European Commission signed the decision for letting the government use the funds independently, showing this way the trust of Brussels on the Albanian government”, declared Klajda Gjosha, Minister of Integration.

The Minister of Finances, Shkelqim Cani, explained the positive effects this decision gives to our economy.

“The decentralized management system is very important, since it accelerates the European Union membership procedures. It is also important for the national development policies. This accrediting means certification of capacities, means more funds, more jobs and more revenues, because the European Union is giving more trust to us and is recognizing the professionalism of our structures”, Cani declared.

The IPA 2013 program channels the European Union aids in six areas, starting from the reinforcement of the judiciary, to the infrastructure investments, agricultural support and employment.
