The “EU for Schools” Program was signed on Wednesday between the EU Ambassador to Albania, Mr. Luigi Soreca, and UNDP Permanent Representative, Ms. Limya Eltayeb, for supporting the Albanian central and local government in speeding up the process of rebuilding educational facilities after the November 26 earthquake.
15 million Euros were given by the European Union to rebuild 22 educational facilities damaged by the November 2019 earthquake in Albania, from which will benefit 7,500 students and school teachers.
The EU Ambassador to Albania, Mr. Luigi Soreca said: “We promised help and we are offering it quickly. Schools are the best embodiment of the faith in the future. The launch of EU assistance after the earthquake with schools of the highest international standard, is the best action to be taken.
