The European Union representative to Tirana, Romana Vlahutin, said that
the judiciary reform will meet resistance, and that the intimidating
campaigns will be more frequent.

“The Vetting process has already started. We are witnessing the first steps of the judiciary reform”, she said.

The European diplomat asked businesses to openly defend this reform, the effects of which, according to her, goes beyond the judiciary system.

I believe that the Vetting Law goes beyond the judiciary system. A honest, independent and responsible judiciary system is essential not only for democracy, but also for the market”, Vlahutin said.

“The international community has been involved in pushing forward with the reform, but we believe that investors should also support it as well. For every day, starting from today, we will face a resistance against this change. The intimidating campaigns will only grow. We are clear about this. But it is essential to listen your voice in favor of the reform during the next months, so that there can be a better rule of law, which will support investments and economic growth”, Vlahutin said.
