After receiving the official progress-report of the European Commission, the EU Ambassador, Roman Vlahutin, the Albanian Prime Minister appeared excited in a press release.

The Prime Minister said that the recommendation was given without reserves, and he criticized the opposition and the media which focused on his breathing after the Nation’s Road protest.

“I am excited and those who focus on my breathing maybe can notice. But I am also very proud because we passed this difficult test. We gave Albania a new statute in the international arena. We left behind another crossroad between the past and the future. Our path may be long, but it is open ahead of us”, Rama declared.

The next station now is accession, according to Rama, as he thanked his predecessors as well for the merits. For the Prime Minister, the recommendation is well-deserved for our country.

“Europe makes no gifts and Brussels is like a machine that can only operate on merits. The recommendation is a recognition of our reforms with a real fight against the enemies of our society, state, crime and corruption”, he said.

However, the real winners, the Prime Minister said, are not the ruling party that worked hard for this day, not the opposition which, according to Rama, worked hard against this day, but the people of Albania.
