The winner of Sanremo and representative of Italy at the Eurovision, the Albanian singer, Ermal Meta, will hold a concert today on Tirana’s “Skanderbeg square, organized by the Municipality.
In a joint interview with Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj, Meta said he was proud to be Albanian: “A child doesn’t chose the country where he is born. If I was allowed to chose my birthplace, I would use Albania once again”, Meta said.
Speaking about the “Non mi avete fatto niente” song, Meta said that a song can create hope, and that was the entire purpose of this successful song.
“We decided to write this song because there is a sense of fear spread around the world. I don’t think that it could save the world, but the song could give a small hope to those who feel fear. Everything goes away. People never think that their life could end one day. We think that if the most ferocious men, if they had lived forever, their behavior would have been different. This is what the song says. Time will pass and everything will change, because life always seeks life and nothing else”, Meta said.
