The northern residents, in cooperation with the heads of communes, are
causing a real natural catastrophe for years, without rest.
Despite the fact that 28 hectares of forests have been destroyed in Bruzhdull, Malesi e Madhe, the head of the commune has never reported about the authors.
“Since the forest is under the administration of the commune, the inspection of the area is made after a notification by the commune. The commune has never informed. The only information has arrived from our inspectors in Shkoder. All violators will be prosecuted”, declared Ergys Agasi, director of the Environmental Inspectorate.
Cutting trees in the northern areas like Bulqize, Lure and Diber, has caused an environmental and economic damage that mounts up to dozens of billions of ALL. The lumber is used for legal and illegal mines.
The Ministry of Education says that the trees were sent to Koplik, after being cut, where it was processed and transported to mines.
“All mines will undergo a thorough investigation, because this lumber might have been used mostly by these subjects”, Agasi clarifies.
The Head of the Environmental Inspectorate says that all people who cut trees illegally will be reported. The law says that they should be punished for these violations.
