Energy Distribution: “One year after operation, we’re no more budget burden”

One year after the operation against energy theft, the Director of the
Energy Distribution Company, Ardian Cela, said that thanks to this
operation and other investments in the network, the company he leads is
no more a burden to the budget, but it even contributes.
The OSHEE Director said the operation was successful and added that the company is making a series of investments to reduce power losses.
Cela declared that losses, from 40% they were two years ago, have dropped to 25% for September. The objective is to keep this trend in the months to come through investments that modernize the network.
The Minister of Interior, Saimir Tahiri, considered the operation against energy a state-forming move. He said that the police has cooperated with the OSHEE for more than 164.000 actions, with 1210 persons arrested and 2826 cases of theft.
