Energy compensation, 16 million USD each year for 204.000 families

On January 1st, 204.000 families will benefit from the energy
compensation. For the Ministry of Social Welfare, this has an annual
value of 16 million USD.
The families that with benefit are those that are led by retired citizens, the families that receive social welfare and those with salaries lower than 35.000.
“The energy price limit will be removed. The electricity will be subventioned. This is the reason why we have 16 million USD to give for these categories, which will receive 700-800 ALL each month”, Veliaj declared.
The Minister added that the social welfare will be increased for 88.000 families, after removing abusers from the scheme.
“There are 108.000 families that receive social welfare. After removing 20.000 abusers, we will have only 88.000 families, which means that those families that received 3000 ALL each month, today will receive 8000 ALL. Three times bigger than what was given in the past, but it is still low”, Veliaj declared.
The budget for the Ministry of Social Welfare is 76 billion ALL and takes 30% of the total state budget.
