Respect and dedication for the business. These were the words that were mentioned so often by the government leader in the meeting with the tax administration in all districts.
“Business people are nothing more and nothing less than the people to who you need to serve. Every businessman should fee respected and inspired after meeting with you. No one should dare to knock on a factory’s or shop’s door with the old culture that used to violate the economic rights and freedoms,” the Prime Minister declared.
Rama spoke about some of the challenges of this administration, insisting in building a new climate in the relations between the government and the taxpayers.
“A challenge that we should win and that we can win within this year is the challenge for a radical transformation of the tax administration relations. We have asked companies to pay 15% of the profits, when they pay 10%. We asked them to increase their contribution and we did the right thing. But on the other hand, the government and each of you should be aware that we also must increase our quality and service to them”, Rama declared.
The Prime Minister asked the tax agents to be careful with the inspections.
“This is the time to reduce the inspection visits, and to rationalize this for every business that is inspected|”, Rama declared.
The Prime Minister promised to end the long bureaucracies through a review of the tax legislation.
“We must manage successfully the reimbursement of VAT, with a full reimbursement within 60 days, in order to end once and for all an ear when VAT, a very clear obligation, has been excluded in a very unacceptable way. Besides the new law of VAT, which will bring us to the European directives and that will arrive in our government in mid February, we aim to review the tax law within six months, together with the respective instructions, together with the all tax procedures”, Rama declared.
The Prime Minister added that everyone who will abuse with their power in the tax and customs administration for terror against business or for personal profits will have to face the Prosecution.
