Electoral meeting and anti-meeting in Shkoder

20/06/2019 22:09

While the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, was holding an electoral meeting with the supporters of the Socialist Party, 150 minutes farther, the opposition supporters were clashing with the police as they attempted to stop the meeting, in presence of the Shkoder Mayor, Voltana Ademi.

Rama did not comment anything about the protesters, but he considered Shkodra’s Mayor, Voltana Ademi, the most incompetent in Albania.

Ademi, on the other hand, was on the square with the other supporters. She didn’t sign the permit for Rama’s electoral meeting, with the argument that June 30th was repealed by the President as the Election Date, and that they couldn’t allow a criminal gang to invade the city.

The protesters clashed with the police, which responded with tear gas. Several protesters and police officers received light injuries.
