The Socialist Party filed two suits at the General Prosecution about the
voters’ list and the result of the local elections for Tirana.
SP experts claim to have identified 21.000 double names in these lists, 5300 of them only in Tirana. They divide the double names in two groups.
“There is a neat usage of the double names, with one single person resulting as voter in two voting centers”, declared Socialist MP Armando Subashi.
The second group is that of hidden double names.
“The voters’ list have four specific elements, and many voters have changed one of the elements”, Subashi declared.
Another element that the Socialist experts claim to have identified and verified, was that of creating inexistent families and individuals who have been later included in these lists.
“All four members of a family have been registered as residents in Tirana, more specifically, in Paskuqan. But in the voting list this family appears to have eight members”, Subashi declared.
The emigrants’ vote is another element that SP has used in its suit. They claim that many emigrants’ votes have been registered, although they were outside Albania at the time. This means that their vote has been used for manipulation. The second suit of the Socialist Party regards the inconsistencies between the number of voters and ballots for the May 8th local elections. The facts for this manipulation are clear, according to Socialist MP Subashi. However, he adds, CEC and the Electoral College hid behind the procedures for bypassing these elements that uncover the electoral theft. SP asked the Prosecution to investigate on what they called an electoral massacre. This, according to them, could be disastrous for future electoral processes.
