Elections didn’t disorganize budget, as usually

The government’s revenues increased with 105 million EUR the first half
of the year, despite the electoral campaign, which almost always damages
the budget.

Official data from the Ministry of Finances show that from January to June, the budget revenues reached 212 billion ALL, from 198 billion that they were a year ago.

Detailed statistics show that the growth has come from national taxes, VAT and excise taxes, all of which have brought 10 billion ALL more than last year at the government’s budget.

However, elections have affected spending. Government spending increased with 210 million EUR compared to the first half of 2016.

The government has spent more for daily operations and for public projects as well. However, the strong growth did not bring a higher public debt.
