Senior citizens of the “Ali Demi” elderly care home have joined the initiative of the Tirana Municipality, planting 10 mimosa trees at Tirana’s Great Artificial Lake Park.
“Common people, those who have less, are giving more. We are grateful to every company that has donated trees, but when we see the elderly care home donating 10 mimosa trees, makes us understand that generosity does not depend on how much you own, but on how much you are willing to give”, Mayor Veliaj said.
“If we continue this way, we are going to surpass the 100,000 planted trees record within March 21st. We have started a new trend. The trend in the 90s was having more cafes, bet shops, etc. Today’s trend is increasing green areas, the usage of bicycles and sport practice. If we continue this way we are going to be true Europeans”, Veliaj said.
