Elbasan Aqueduct Enterprise has undertaken an action for cutting illegal
connections to water systems that supply the Kraste area.
More than 150 families of this are have made interventions in the main tube that connects with the pumps used to supply drinking water to the entire city. This phenomenon negatively affects the drinking water quality, endangering Elbasan citizens’ health.
According to Elber Aqueduct director, Ardian Zhidro, the families that have performed the illegal connections do not have contracts with the aqueduct, although they receive drinking water 247. If that was not enough, these families use the drinking water for irrigation, taking it away from other families with regular contracts.
