The Saint Joan Vladimir Church in Elbasan, a XV century First Category
Monument of Culture, is being reconstructed by the Albanian Orthodox
Church funds. This church was restored years ago, but humidity did
damage once again, and it needs new intervention.
“We are going to repair the roof isolation, not the roof itself. We will keep the originality of the church as for the infrastructure. We have foreseen to repair windows as well”, said Gentian Stratoberdha from the Orthodox Church.
The nearby Shelcan church is also degrading, also a very valuable culture monument, with rare murals painted by Onuphris. This will also be repaired by the Albanian Church, after receiving permit from the Institution of Monuments.
