An explosion of the melting furnace at the “Steal Factory” in Elbasan has severely injured one worker.
The 50 year old Hyqmet Doka suffered high degree burnings and is being treated in serious critical life conditions.
Sources confirm that the injured was sent at first at the chirurgical hospital in Elbasan, but due to grave conditions, he was sent at the Military Hospital in Tirana.
Police forces showed immediately on the scene and preliminary data suggest that Doka was burned by the lava outbreak from a melting furnace, but police investigations are still underway.
“Kurum” has had other accidents of this type in the past, even with victims. More than 500 workers are employed in this company, who have protested several times against bad working conditions and safety issues.
