The Egyptian justice authorities have refused to hand over Adel Muhamet Selam to the Albanian justice, who is being investigated for taking two Albanians hostage, one of whom has disappeared.

Egyptian authorities demand Albania to hand them a full case of evidence against their citizen.

The 31-year-old took hostage two Albanian sailors, one of whom was found in the boat, tied, while the whereabouts of the other Albanian boat owner remain unknown.

The saved hostage, Luan Mema, said that Salam, who was working for them as a crew member, had used sleeping pills to change the course of the boat to Egypt.

The Egyptian sailor has apparently claimed that the owners of the boat owed him 70,000 EUR, since he had an agreement for sharing their fishing profits. However, the fate of Captain Dhimiter Malaj remains unknown.
