Economic optimism for businesses and consumers increased during the third trimester of 2017.

The Central Bank of Albania declared that the economic sensitivity index, which measures perceptions of families and businesses regarding the economic situation, has increased with 1.8% during July and September only.

Detailed data published by the Bank of Albania show that the increased optimism in economy during the third trimester has come mainly from the construction sector, while industry and services appeared lower than one trimester ago.

Despite the drop, the total sensitivity indicator, which includes perceptions of all sectors, remains 13.8 points above its long-term average.

This means that businesses and individuals perceive the economic situation better than the average of 10 years ago.

According to the Bank of Albania, the evaluation of businesses and consumers for the economy started changing positively by the end of the past year. After the first trimester of 2016, the public’s perception for the economic situation improved with more than 20 points, a period which coincides with the economic growth.
