The Bank of Albania Governor, Gent Sejko, argued the economic growth of Albania during a meeting with the Albanian Prime Minister and other representatives of the banking system.

“Our economy has entered a revival trajectory that aims for the long term. The economic growth was 4.1% during the second trimester of the year, mostly supported by a revival of the internal private demand, but also by improved trade exchanges abroad. Our expectancies for the future remain positive”, said the Bank of Albania Governor, Gent Sejko.

The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, said that Albania’s profit from the banking system is breaking the record of the past 20 years.

Rama also added that this system leaves no chance for money laundering in Albania. The Prime Minister also answered to the accusations of the opposition regarding the new budget.

“I heard the opposition saying that the budget 2018 should be administered by the FBI and DEA structures, since our program will be in the hands of the crime”, Rama said.

“These signals from the Democratic Party are ridiculous, but they also damage the consumer and the public opinion in general. Those who are forced to listen to these ridiculous explosions of imagination will laugh, they will not cry. They should cry and go ahead, because the economic reality that shown by the Banking System is very optimistic”, the Prime Minister said.
