The EU Ambassador to Albania, Luigi Soreca, declared in a press conference that the earthquake of September 21st makes it indispensable in Albania to establish a powerful agency for increasing the risk-management capacities.
“We are proud for the efficiency of our mechanism for protecting the European civil population. In just a few days we made together a team of eight experts who are still in Albania”, he said.
But Soreca didn’t leave without mentioning the lack of civilian information in case of natural catastrophes.
“Such events have shown a lack of awareness by the citizens and the media, which could have been devastating”, he said.
