The Republican Party leader, Fatmir Mediu, declared that he doesn’t know
why Parliament Member Luan Duzha left the opposition and joined the
Socialist Movement for Integration.
Speaking for the media, Mediu considered this situation shameful, saying that the Parliament is turning into a livestock market.
“I think that when the Parliament Members are elected, they are elected to represent and they must have a reason to have another position as regards the political matters of the country’s interests. This is not the first time that it happens in the Albanian Parliament and I hope that it is the last. It is intentional, on my opinion, because there are processes that require a specific number of Parliament Members to reach such relations, and there are investments that are not completely transparent. There are investments that come to damage the Parliamentary life”, Mediu declared.
After Duzha left to join the Socialist Movement for Integration, the Republican Party remains with three seats in Parliament while the majority has 84., turning this way into a qualified majority. With these votes they can approve any law and important reform that requires a qualified majority during these four years.
