Durres has had many visitors this year not only at the beach, but also
at the Olympic Pool which was frequented even by foreigners.
Eduard Berdaku, the person in charge at the pool, says that swimming has been the main sport of Durres, and the pool this year was full of local and foreign visitors who want to take swimming lessons.
Not everyone wants to become a swimmer, but swimming is one of the healthiest sports, and children also notice this.
Berdaku invites parents and children to visit the pool at any time of the year. The most talented can also be part of the swimming sport clubs.
Durres was the city where the first public swimming races began in Albania. By the end of the 1920s, the first national swim association was created. It started the organization of national champions, who found massive support and many local fans.
