A gastrohepatologist doctor from the Durrës hospital was put under investigation after the death of a 39-year-old man from the city of Shijak, a day after she visited him.
Ervis Murati came to the Durrës hospital and after the visit with the unnamed gastrohepatologist, left to return home.
A day later, on Thursday evening, the 39-year-old lost his life at home, while the grieving family members demanded an investigation and clarification of the cause of death.
Hospital sources suggest that Murati was suffering from liver cirrhosis. Meanwhile, the forensic expertise is expected to determine the cause of death, or whether the doctor under indictment has followed the appropriate protocol for the treatment of the patient.
The police informs that the doctor is under investigation for the criminal offense of “negligent medication”.
