The verdict of the Commission of Discipline not only has not fulfilled
our expectancies, but has surprised by equalizing what happened in
Belgrade on October 14th.
The President of the Albanian Federation, Armando Duka, told for Top Channel about everything that happened in Geneva.
“The decision was some kind of compromise with myself. I don’t know what legal bases will this decision have. This is some kind of comrpomise within the Commission. I don’t understand why was this decision taken. No one can convince me that it was based on rules. I am not convinced about the message that football should give, which is that of having nothing to do with violence. This is a very political act”, Duka says.
The Serbian media published a declaration of the Serbian Football Federation Director, who underlined a phone call with Platini. President Duka has often declared that he has not contacted the President of UEFA.
“I cannot comment on the declarations of the Serbian Federation President. I cannot think that the decision was based on a phone call”, Duka declared.
However, Duka and the Albanian delegation are optimistic.
“We must win this case. First of all, for what we saw there. Secondly, this has been the opinion of all experts and lawyers that we have contacted”, Duka says.
However, the first instance of this case at the UEFA Committee of Discipline confiormed that justice is flexible even there.
“Justice must be everwhere. We are members of UEFA, although we have different opinions and interests on this case”, Duka said.
“We will finalize the appealing of this case within this November. If we will not take what we deserve, we will continue at the Council of Arbitrage in Lausanne, which will take some other time. We will announce the request that we will make at the appeal phase in the next three days. If there will be another phase after this, the entire process might take three or four months”, Duka underlined.
