Ervin Haxhiaj, father of three and with a 18-year-long career in the
police force, was sent to his last resting place today by his family,
colleagues and relatives. The inspector died on his duty, at the same
spot where he had served for the past years.

Ervin Haxhiaj was killed in an accident while patrolling the area with two of his colleagues, Ismail hoxha and Besim Voji, who were both injured.

Investigations held so far show that the police vehicle was hit by another vehicle that was driven by Arnold Kola.

The 22-year-old was driving his “Lexus” under the influence of alcohol. He had crashed against the police vehicle at 130 km/h.

Kola was arrested one year ago on the same spot where he committed the tragic accident. The Justice System gave him another chance, letting him on probation since he was a university student and since it was his first offense.

However, this probation did not serve him to reflect or rehabilitate himself from alcohol.
