Almost 100 kg of marijuana have been blocked today by the Durres Police,
after an investigation that lasted for several months by the
Prosecution of Serious Crimes.
According to sources at the Prosecution of Serious Crimes, this market had been under investigation for a long time, due to the suspicions that they were trafficking drugs in the Albania-Italy line.
Citizens Orges Shqopa, Victor Shkurti, Gazmir Baurini, Saimir Zotkaj and Geris Agasi are under arrest.
The Prosecution states that the drug quantity was seized by the end of the Durres highway, before entering the city’s port.
The suspects were allegedly trying to hide the drug in a truck when they were caught.
“The drug was transported through two vehicles, one owned by Orges Shqopa, while the other one was rented by Agasi”, one of the investigators declared.
