Top Channel and the “Dritan Hoxha” Foundation organized a charity event
with the participation of the Albanian President, Bujar Nishani; the
Deputy Prime Minister, Niko Peleshi, Ministers, Parliament Members, the
Prosecutor General, Adriatic Lalla, the Head of the Supreme Court,
Xhezair Zaganjori, and ambassadors Arvizu and Sequi.
The funds coming from this initiative will go to the isolated families in Shkoder and Dukagjin. The President of Top Media, Mr.Vjollca Hoxha declared that Albania of XXI century cannot be anymore a country of social inequalities. It cannot be the country where people are isolated because of blood-feud, and where justice is sold as a market good.
“I have faced a series of problems as a woman and as a mother. As leader of a media company, I have heard painful stories of women and children throughout the country. But what impressed more my memories are the stories for the families that are suffering isolation because of blood feuds. We are here to show the most humane dimension of our society. Let’s contribute by gathering funds for the isolated families of blood feuds. This will not resolve their problems, but it will be a sign that will show them that they are not alone in this”, Mrs.Hoxha declared.
The “Dritan Hoxha” award was given this year to Filip Cakulli, the director of “Fiks Fare”, an investigative program on Top Channel.
“Exactly because of the contribution given by this show in reporting justice corruption, I am happy that besides the initiative to help raising awareness for the blood feud phenomenon, this year I am honoring and awarding people who work every day for making this country a better place. I am happy that I am giving the Dritan Hoxha Award to our best friend, Filip Cakuli”, Mrs.Hoxha declared.
“It is a special pleasure for receiving this award that holds the name of the founder and our friend that we will never forget, Dritan Hoxha. I want to thank my team who have worked with me in these 12 years. I want to thank Top Channel, without which “Fiks Fare” wouldn’t have been what it is”, Cakuli declared.
The event will be broadcast on January 1st 2014 on Top Channel. Everyone is invited to contribute for these families, and especially children and innocent victims.
